About Marches Housing and Charitable Trust
MHCT is our vehicle for delivering small community based regeneration projects.
MHCT is a charity associated with SSHA, part of SHG. Helen Vaughan is responsible for the day to day activities of MHCT. Its work is guided by a Board of Trustees.
MHCT key priorities for the next two years are to:
- Ensure that community based organisations understand the role of MHCT in helping them to access and administer funding.
- Provide revenue support to some key organisations providing community facilities within the area.
- Provide support to community based organisations to raise funds for activities that contribute to the MHCT’s objectives of social inclusion and preventing rural isolation.
- Provide advice and resources to develop projects that add value and make a real difference to people’s lives.
- Work closely with partners in the community and voluntary sector to meet identified needs. We will build on the relationships that have been established with local community centres and groups; encouraging them to run innovative and creative projects that will address issues of social inclusion, rural isolation and access to services.
- Work closely with partner regeneration organisations to make our area an even better place to live by creating better work and leisure opportunities. Our work is for all sections of the community but our focus will be on groups who may not otherwise access services and opportunities generated by regeneration initiatives
The Trust has made a commitment to Equal Opportunities and will ensure that it delivers equality and diversity as one of its main principles and ensure that this is carried out by both the Trustees and through delivery of the projects.
