Marches Housing and Charitable Trust

Much of our community development work is delivered by Marches Housing Charitable Trust.

The Trust is a community fund raising charity, working in association with South Shropshire Housing Association.

The Trust supports local community groups through funding and partnership working, mainly in the following three ways:

Projects MHCT and SSHA/ SHG have obtained funding for and are directly responsible for,
Community based projects MHCT has helped community groups to develop,
Community activities supported through MHCT funding.

Examples of projects that have been supported by MHCT include:

The Worlds Biggest Gallery Artwalk in Craven Arms, an open-air exhibition to show off the wealth of creative and artistic talent in the area. Last year more than 100 artists and performers took part.

Craven Arts is a non-profit organisation whose goal is for people to see a side of Craven Arms that is creative, fun and inspiring. They are currently working in partnership with South Shropshire Housing Association, local schools, local businesses and community organisations to produce this year’s art event for Craven Arms.

MHCT Misson Statement

Marches Housing and Charitable Trust will contribute to social inclusion and vibrant local communities. It will do so by providing the community we serve with opportunities to be socially active; economically active and to develop skills and interests that benefit the wider community and the environment. We aim to do this by providing advice, by helping incorporated and unincorporated groups access funding and, within our means, providing direct financial support to key groups and organisations. Our aim is to work alongside and to complement the work of South Shropshire Housing Association.
