Our support services provide a mixture of accommodation and “outreach” or “floating“ support to any eligible adult living in South Shropshire. We work with people who live in rented or owned accommodation. The support we provide will always be unique to each person but our overall aim is to increase people’s confidence, ability and skills to live independently and live rewarding lives within our community - whether young, old, frail or physically disabled.
People seek our support for a wide range of reasons, some because they are leaving home for the first time, others because they are experiencing a personal crisis due to relationship breakdown, tenancy failure, domestic violence, mental ill health, severe debt, loss of a loved one, or because they have been a victim of crime.
Our support is delivered to people in their own homes and follows a support plan that has been individually tailored to meet the needs of each person over an agreed timescale. Support can be with a variety of housing related tasks such as:
- Support with budgeting and money management.
- Guidance with form-filling and claiming benefits.
- Access to other support services, like addiction support or counselling.
- Help with moving on to living independently and finding work.
- Help with managing physical or mental health needs.
- Help in keeping safe.
- Help to get involved in community activities.
- Support to keep your property in good repair.
- Support to achieve greater independence and control.
All of our support services encourage the participation and involvement of service users – we think it is very important that people who use our services feel that their views are listened to and acted upon.
