Your rent is set in accordance with Government guidelines. The aim is that by 2011 tenants renting similar homes in the same area will pay a similar rent regardless of which housing association or council they rent from.
South Shropshire Housing Association’s rent setting policies are:
- To cover the association’s costs of repair and maintenance of the properties, the management of tenancies and loan repayments of the original cost of the buildings.
- To be fair to all tenants, setting rents at levels that can be afforded by households in low paid employment and ensuring that similar properties have similar rents.
We review rents once a year and any changes come into effect from the first Monday in April.
