Domestic Enablement Service
This is a floating support service that is available throughout South Shropshire for people who need short term assistance in their daily life to enable them to remain independent .The service enables people to adapt and cope with everyday household tasks and helps them get out and about. It is not a care service and does not provide personal care.
This service is funded by the Supporting People programme. To receive this service you must be eligible for Supporting People funding and have an assessed need.
Floating (Community) Support Service
This service is for Older people who are in need of some short term assistance to help them remain independent and secure within their own home. The support is tailored to the individual needs of each person and covers a very wide range of issues although it cannot provide any help with personal care. This service is funded by the Shropshire Supporting People programme, and therefore is free to people who are eligible.
Community Alarms Service
For many people the telephone is their only means of contact with friends, relatives or neighbours, but in a crisis it is often difficult to locate and dial the number that will bring help.
This service provides help just when it is needed - any time of the day, any day of the year. Most importantly, the service can be called by pressing a pendant button if the person cannot get to the phone, if they have suffered a fall, or are too ill to get out of bed and need to summon assistance.
