Tass

Getting involved with the tenants association gives you the opportunity to have your say.

The Tass committee consists of residents for all of the areas covered by SSHA.

The Tass Resource Centre is based at The Gateway in Craven Arms and there are volunteers there every morning from Monday to Wednesday to help and talk to residents. You can contact them on 01588 676285.

Tass currently meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month and two tenant Board Members sit on the committee. This provides a direct link between the tenants and the Board of Management.

Tass also have four sub groups who report back to the main committee. They are:

Void Inspectors

Visit empty properties before they are re-let (accompanied by Community Liaison Officer).
Check the standard matches the standards set out in SSHA’s voids policy.

Repairs Inspectors

Check that repairs are being done to a satisfactory standard.
Complete random repairs surveys.
Visit properties highlighted from the survey to inspect repairs (accompanied by the Community Liaison Officer).
Monitor contactors working in your area. I.E. Painting contracts.
Meet with SSHA repairs team to discuss the service standards provided.

Policy / Reading group

Discuss proposed policy changes by SSHA.
Feed back the views of the Tass committee to SSHA so that they can be taken into account before being implimented.
Read any new leaflet or literature being produced by SSHA to check it is clear, easy to understand and not full of jargon.

Help set the service standards provided by SSHA.
Monitor the complaints procedure.
Check with the tenant that their complaint has been settled satisfactorily.
Monitor the service standards.

Training and funding is available for any tenant who would like the opportunity to become involved in any of the above activities.
